NOHUM

Save yourself before you save someone else.

Psychological thrillerMysterySci-fi
The story

Three atheists. One dinner. A new religion.

Nohum isn't simply a passion-film. It's a cautionary tale set in a world we very well know and live in.

Drawn by an invitation to a gathering called Atheist Anonymous, Daksh, Abhay and Reeti arrive expecting an evening of shared disbelief. Instead, they find themselves at the home of Dr. Panikkar and his son Shantanu, a warm dinner that feels ordinary, yet carries the invisible weight of the extraordinary.

What begins as friendly banter slowly unfolds into an exchange of faiths and philosophies, revealing not just what they believe in, but how open they are to what they don't.

Then the hosts reveal their belief that they have discovered the final religion of humanity, one born not of gods, but of reason. Through Nohum, all three are drawn into the depths of their own past, until the true nature of Nohum is revealed.

The characters

Meet the guests.
And the hosts.

Directors' statement
Many will watch this film and call it niche. And niche it is. But we believe that is Nohum's greatest strength. It speaks to an audience that has long had to look to the West for mind-bending or deeply psychological thrillers, stories that challenge, unsettle, and linger. On the surface, Nohum is simple. But if you give it a chance, it begins to open itself up quietly, persistently, until it finds its way into a conversation you're still having long after the film has ended.
